Club Cuvée, Freixenet’s first ecommerce
A partner from before the first line of code
When Freixenet, the famous Catalan Cava producer, decided to take the leap into online commerce, they chose RSB as their technology partner — not only to produce the store but also for the upfront concept, definition and structure work, plus art direction.
While every available framework was initially weighed and analysed — including a from-scratch build — several factors led the brand to ship it on the WordPress framework with its Woocommerce plugin. The deciding factor was the existing CMS familiarity inside Freixenet's marketing team, plus the speed and cost of development.
It's worth noting that this ecommerce was set up as a temporary proof of concept expected to change in the medium term — although in the end it ran for far longer.
Building Club Cuvée
The Club Cuvée that RSB has built has served as the online store for the Freixenet brand. A site that solidified as the brand's ecommerce space, hosting every product — wines and cavas — and that RSB has extended to also showcase information about cellar visits as well as managing those visits themselves.
The site was integrated with the company's SAP through a tailor-made connector that RSB has built ad hoc with the PHP experts in its team.
A partner that stays after launch
RSB has not only handled development and maintenance (a must when the chosen platform is WordPress) — it has also driven the evolution and day-to-day management of the site alongside Freixenet's technical team.
