RSB's first artificial intelligence project, years before the boom
Volkswagen and DDB Barcelona's launch campaign for the Tiguan, a car that showed off its connectivity. RSB took it into digital with a voice-recognition web app, the agency's first artificial intelligence project, long before the current boom. People browsed the site just by speaking to it, hands free.

A technical challenge that ended in an award
Hola Tiguan was built on an embryonic version of OpenAI's engine, so early that it didn't understand Spanish well. RSB taught it, tuning the model and routing requests through its own translators before processing them. The engine didn't hold conversational context either, so RSB built that itself, with proprietary algorithms and storage that remembered what the user had asked and gave continuity to every answer.
The system used the browser's native speech recognition and recognised different phrasings to understand what the user wanted at each moment. It worked on mobile and desktop, with microphone or keyboard, for browsers without mic access.
Quite a feat, years before generative AI became a trend, that won the Inspirational Grand Prix at the IAB Spain Inspirational Festival.
